| I agree looks more like mannahutte at the top of cliffsend, its the stairs & windows. the angle of the road looks odd for anything at the bottom of nethercourt. I remember the fuel garage before peirremonts as i grew up in nethercourt during the 70's & 80's & that building hasn't changed other than some new signs. ha goining to have to drive & have a look now, scared the senior moments are creeping in and im going mad. | |

| It was at the bottom of the road as you approached the roundabout from canterbury on the left hand side, was knocked down many years ago when they redid the petrol station and workshops, in fact Dave Thomas was in the new workshop for many years doing his tyres and MOT's before it was revamped yet again | |

| From memory think it was knocked down in the late sixties and rebuilt as a petrol station with I think Jet Petroleum and if i remember correctly it was Grummants that built most of the houses leading up to it from the Lord of the manor | |

| Philpots was definetly where the pierremonts site is now. My uncle worked there when he was in his late teens. He has a great story about accidently driving their old Land Rover recovery truck into the back of a Reliant in St Lawrence and splitting it open! | |

| Richard you just reminded me of an event in Amersham. A mate owned the garage in Amersham, it was almost in the centre of Amersham and the town had a one way system that meant you could drive all around the centre of the town with just turning right. Anyway the garage had the reliant franchise when he got it so MOT's of Reliant were part of the 'fun' as he put it. He had one three pin plug in for MOT, passed so he drove round the block to park it in the car park, the garage had an allocation of the parking in the super market, in the car park he tried to turn left and the car "fell over". The owner lived within the town centre so never had to turn left. Back on the ramp he found that half the teeth on the rack were missing, rack and pinion steering, the wheel just locked over. They had a lot of old Reliant and used for spares, he demonstrated how to remove a horn in one easy move, sledge hammer worked wonders Cut the roof off and the slightest breeze sends it sliding down the road Also it only takes 75 seconds for a complete burn out. | |
