Bromley Pageant 20013
This will be short report on the Bromley Pageant 2013. Me and Sandra left Whitstable at 7:30am, Hood up as it was bit too cold and she wanted to get there with her hair still straight (GHD day)
We only passed 2 other classics on the way and that was on A20 Swanley. As we got to Bromley number of classic cars was building up, but was still able to drive straight in to one make parking and it already had large number of vehicles in place and some very nice looking ones.
Had guy run over to us and he gave me a pass to park on Stag owners stand which was well arranged with large number of Stags, I did recognise him but couldn’t think where I had meet him, then the penny dropped. I had driven to Mile of Triumphs weekend in Great Yarmouth 4 years ago. Pretty proud of myself for remembering that, as I can’t remember what happened last week.
Anyway once on the Stag owners stand we headed for their marquee as it was still pretty cold but dry. It was well stocked with Tea Coffee and lots of cakes and scones which I twisted may own arm and tried my best to eat it all before 10:30am, had to give up on that.
Now onto the show. The day was pretty cold which was a shame and also not many stalls which I like to look around for parts, I did over hear one stall owner moaning about the cost of having a stall at Pageant which is indeed shown by not many stalls, lot of food wagons with silly prices and it didn’t help that someone drunk and eat most of the grub in Stag owner marquee….
As you can imagine with up to 800 vehicles, their was lots to look at some very special vehicles, lots of classics you’ll promise yourself to have if you had the money and also some you’ll promise yourself never to own but still great looking around and talking to owners. Over all it was ok day maybe bit too cold but was dry, will say last Bromley Pageant we went to was in 2000 and from my very poor memory it was lot better than this one (I Think) no or yes it was better in 2000.
I will give credit to the Stag owners Club for getting 2nd prize for the best large, single make car club, stand and display which managed to pull together 47 1/2 Stags (Yes that is ½)
Maybe next year we could be there as a Club (maybe)
Ps: we did come back, and passed Bus going up Detling Hill maybe member of our club?
