Hi to you all.

I saw this site in the car club profile in the latest Practical Classics, and joined up straight away.
My name is Wayne, I live in Upminster, Essex. But I do visit Broadstairs a lot. So hope the meet up with you some time. As you can see from my profile, I have a 1931 Austin Seven Swallow Saloon. I also have a 1933 Austin Seven type 65 sports (the name before they were called 'Nippy').

Bye for now,

Wayne.

Cheers, they told me it would be in the 1st of December, but I presume subscriptions get sent out earlier. I will pop down W.H.Smiths tomorrow.

Hi Tony, small world! I actually live in Cranham, just off Front Lane. I always say I'm from Upminster, because no-one's ever heard of Cranham. Do you come from Cranham originally and are your family still here?

I'd love to come to one of your meetings, but not sure when I'm next in Broadstairs. We're snowed in at the moment.

It's great now that I've found this forum, as I'm always backwards and forwards to the lovely Broadstairs.

Lee, it says:

THANET CLASSICS

Thanet Classics was formed just four months ago, yet it already attracts up to 40 cars at each meeting. The club was founded by 18-year old enthusiast Lee Collier and serves the Thanet region. It meets on the first Tuesday of the month at the Red Arrows Club, Ramsgate, CT11 0QX.
All makes of cars over 25 years old are welcome. Surprisingly for such a young club, Thanet Classics has started organising its own events, the first being a Christmas Cruise on Sunday, December 12. All proceeds from the event will go to the Pilgrims Hospice, a charity providing specialist palliative care to people in east Kent. To support this new club visit www.thanetclassics.co.uk or call Lee on 07746 227385 for more details.

PHEW!! My fingers are aching now! Shocked Hopes this puts your mind at rest!

I don't, I was born in Margate, but my Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather all came from Cranham.
My Grandfather Built Moss Hall as it was called then, and later become Moor lane church, for the community to use.

Found some info here
CHAPTER 14. NOTABLE BUILDINGS AT CRANHAM
MOSS HALL

The modern development of the parish created a need for a social hall after the Second World War. The Ratepayers' Association constantly petitioned the Hornchurch UDC for this type of building from 1950 onwards, but without result. Eventually, Mr.A.J.Moss built the hall that bears his name, and rented it to the Ratepayers' at peppercorn rent. Due to the running expenses and the somewhat obscure location, the Ratepayers' withdrew in 1957. The hall is now owned and occupied by a non-conformist church.

Thanks Tony, that's really interesting, I never knew that. My wife's aunt goes to Moor Lane church! Truly a small world. I'll have to take a picture of it and send it to you, as it looks today.

Oops, sorry folks, slightly off the topic of classic cars!

That's a shame, but it's still good publicity for the club. That's how I came across it and decided to join the forum.

Yeah, its great publicity for the club, just don't want people forgetting Dad and Tony as they do just as much as I do, its just that I like speaking to the mags and papers etc. Sorry Tony! Neutral Last time they spelt your name wrong and this time they forgot you Sad

Glad that its at least got us one more member! Thanks for joining! Very Happy

Wayne That would be brilliant, I came up about 4-5 years ago and took a few photos of the outside, sadly though we were unable to get inside to take photos.
I have a old photo of the inside on the opening day with all my family and friends.
