| The P6 has developed an irregular misfire, mostly when accelerating up to about 2000 rpm. Seems OK after that.
So far only checked the obvious - ignition leads secure and distributor cap/rotor arm seem OK. Were it the P4 I would be looking at the points next, but the P6 has electronic ignition, about which I know B all. I have always understood that EI either works or it doesn't, with nothing in between. Is that correct, or is there something more I should be looking at, | |

| Have you checked the plugs yet, I fitted a new set a while back and started to get the same symptoms, I found one of the plugs had a cracked insulator inside the metal body, I only noticed it when cleaning said plug and the insulator rotated a little. | |

| Will be looking at the plugs, though I would be surprised if that is the problem as it does not feel as though any one cylinder is playing up and unlikely that more than one would have failed at the same time after 4,000 miles. Coil is probably the next thing to try. Got one knocking around the garage somewhere, but damned if I can find it. | |

| It's mounted at an awkward angle, and the script on the box is very stylised, but it looks like Newtronic, or something very similar. | |

| Didn't ask to be honest Bill. I generally deal with Wins, who only list one option. I thought about Magnecor, but £80+ seemed a bit steep. | |

| That's pretty much what I paid (£26 with postage). It never occurred to me that you would stock them. Do you keep many Rover parts, or just those common the the V8 Bs? | |
