| My husband was against buying a classic car, he calls them rust buckets and bottemless pits, after dragging him around several classic car shows over ten years! & always dreaming... he made the mistake of saying to me that a Rolls or Bently would be a good classic to have...no sooner said than done. I began studying the different types of RR made a scrap book up of all the do's and don'ts, cut out lots of pictures, and finally decided on a Silver Shadow Mk 1 because I liked the chrome bumpers. Next I contacted the RR car club who laughed at me when I told him my buget. He said I would never find one for the amount of money I wanted to pay...Which made me more determined to find one.. I began checking adverts, watching Ebay, and rang around garages advertising that they service RR to ask if they knew anyone with one for sale. After the fourth garage a chap in Gillingham from Shadow Motor Cars told me that he knew of one sitting in a garage, tragically the guy had died and his wife had left it in the garage for over nine months. He said he would contact her and see if she wanted to sell it. We arranged to meet, the car was generally dull and looked unloved. The mechanic confirmed that it was sound, just needing tlc on the paint work. The engine was so quiet you could here the clock ticking. I collected the car on the 24th September 2000 I still havent given the car a respray as the best quote has been £2,500 She came with no history so I had to take a chance, the previous owner had her 18 years, he was on the board of directors for the Chrystal Palace FC and had his initials on the number plate. I love driving her its as comfy as an armchair and the smell of the car lingers hours after you have driven her.. Have a few wiring problems now, so if anyone knows a good car electrician let me know. Hope you've enjoyed reading this have a great new year!

No it wasn't his work but he can do work just as good! I know that Tony has used him in the past as well as othe people on Here and me and my dad are constantly using him. She is free to come and have a look round it when ever she likes! | |
