When my next one is done we can have a run from monkton thru to wingham if you like and see which one is quickest thru there one evening!! Tell your brother I will bring the recovery truck homer that night and park it near there so then at least he won't need eclipse to pull him out of one of the ditches!!!!!! tongue lol! :rofl

Oh you have angered him now mate! He is definetly up for that especially as it will be putting out 400bhp very soon following its ECU upgrade. Ill leave the two of you to name a time at the next meet! Very Happy

To be fair though I do quite like mini's and I have driven a reasonably sorted 1275 mini and I see where your coming from with the handling it is fun.

However I have also driven the 300zx and although it is a big old car it is incredibly fast. I have raced him in my Saab 900 turbo with the boost turned right up and he can still pull away from me easily. I would think even along that wingham road the straighter bits would mean the 300 would be quicker. He has some heavy brake upgrades on it as well so it can brake late.

I think the imps would be a fairer match and a summer evening bomb along that road with minis and imps would be quite fun to do as I had been meaning to drive that road quickly in one. Very Happy

I'm up fOr all of that!!!! Let me get my next mini done and we will set both up!!! I'm still happy to have a go at the big bad Nissan thru there cos surely with all that power, thru there it is going to be more a hinderence than a help with very little to room to use it???,and i think you might be surprised at how close it could turn out to be!!!! A hack with the imps thru there would be cool and probably more fun for the mini as it won't have to try that hard!!!!!!!! Lol!! Wink tongue Laughing

Well Ill leave you and my bro to sort out the first one when you have a car then.

For my part Im happy to go for a quick blast along there although I would suggest we keep serious racing for a trackday. I think the thread may have already gone a bit to Fast and Furious for some people and the club isnt really about racing cars im sure!

I would point out though if you want to compare performance of minis and imps you need to buy a genuine classic mini and not any of this 80's and 90's nonsense. Im running cars that are over 40 years old with period modifications that actually are classics! Razz

But, this I Promise, I will have a quick mini sooner rather than later to have a ruck with you square beetle boys!!!! Lol!! Very Happy Laughing

It's the fact that they are so big that appeals!! Minis are and always will be my number one cars but the thought of wofting down the road in an old mk10 jag just sounds like a truly lovely experience!!!, so if this one isn't A: to bad, B: actually fits in my garage, then I will own one sooner rather than later!!!! At just over 17ft long and 6th something wide it may be a bit of a squeeze in my garage!!!! Fingers crossed......!
