It's the newsletter that the Save Dreamland Campaign have sent out letting the public know what is going on and what is coming up in the next few months! Here is also a link to Dreamland's new website. www.dreamlandmargate.comClick the link to download the newsletter. ~Lee

| It would be great to see the old DreamLand up and running again. Being a child of the 70's and 80's arcade generation, I used to spend most of my summers in the Margate arcades and DreamLand. | |

Being a child of the 70's and 80's arcade generation, I used to spend most of my summers in the Margate arcades and DreamLand. I think the plan is around 2 years from now for it to be open again! There are a few events in the pipeline to raise money for the cause, I think. ~Lee

| The family have had members partaking in the pleasures of Dreamland from the 1920's to the late 50's. Might have even been after that as well, I was tother side of the world in Malaya in the 60's. Have to see if I can persuade my grand nephew to come down for a visit, that would make it 90+ years of attendance Roger | |

| I wish I had but most of my, and Fathers, photos got lost to flooding. Had a load from Egypt, Africa and his military career, all lost, well almost all. A load from the Valley of the kings and most of the other tombs etc. This was in the late 20's and early 30's, before comercialism, and while a lot of the discoveries were still being found or even to be found. I have one photo of the Aswan Low dam, but nothing brilliant. Talking of photos from Africa as well, My Niece honymooned in Africa, she took a photo at Tika Falls, creepy, she must have been stood on exactly the same spot as Her Grand father 70+ years before, you can almost line them up together. | |

| Tony Used to have them all in a waterproof chest. Waterproof, kept the water in lovely, had a flood and the chest filled up, unbeknown to me at first. Too late when I realised, thay are all in boxes under the bed now, whats left of them. Lost eight of my own albums with about 200 in each, all from my days in the army. Lost about five of Fathers albums, that hurt the most as they dated from the early 20's to mid 60's, a lot of his were also ex army when out in Egypt and Africa, a lot in the desert, Valley of the Kings, Luxor, Nile, Kenya, Vicroria falls and all from the 20's to the 40's. Aircraft, old biplane pasenger aircraft, I have only one left of the KLM DC2 on trails. Just make sure there kept dry, and flat. Negatives? always keep them, I have started scanning all negatives, slides and photos onto at least three HDD and also onto CD's. CD's are not life long as people seem to think, I have some that won't open that are only five years old. I also have music CD's I have bought when CD's first started, been used only a few times as I used to copy to tape to play in the waggon. Some of them wont play I have even tried CD rescue programs to no avail. So albums and old shoe boxes are still the best, god knows what will happen in a few years time, how many old digital photos of today will still be around. Roger | |

| Blimey Roger that's really sad. I keep mine in shoe boxes in a dry dark cupboard at the moment but have never been sure if it was the best place.
I've lost loads of digital photos from my pc's, my own fault for not backing them up. And I never seem to learn by my mistakes either.

~Lee The land at Dreamland still belongs to Godden who incidently has parked 3000Lt of diesel to power a generator under the scenic railway!!!!!!!!! As soon as the land is turned over to the Dreamland trust Jan will be in contact to arrange meets, right now she is ploughing on, head down getting the funding, rides etc all together which is a massive job to do and you only get one crack at it but I am confident that Dreamland will go ahead, although it will start small and gather pace over a 2-3 yr period, the scenic railway has been so neglected it will take over a year just to rebuilt it. I hope this fills some gaps. Kindest regards kapo
