| Hi there. I was messaged by splitLee who noticed where I lived when he was on Retrorides and advised I came here. I am a classic fan and like all sorts. Until my old man stopped buying them, Practical Classics was my bedtime read. He stopped though and the wife wont allow me a subscription until I have got rid of the ones I have. I am a bit of a BMW fanboy and would have what some of the stuffier elements of the classic car scene would scoff at. They are what I consider modern classics! So before you start; if you got nothing constructive to say..... 0121 I started with a 1991 BMW e30 318i with a slushbox. A good mate of mine off the e30zone suggested I convert it to manual and stick the IS lump in there! This was duly done in my father in laws garage and run for about 9 months before one of Thanets finest decided they wanted my stainless steel exhaust and stole it. That coupled with a couple of other things convinced me to sell it. The next car was an e34 525 1989 in white which I accidentally bought on ebay. I wanted and e34, just not a white one. It was my second white car and I HATE white ones. Only have to look at them and they are filthy. That said it was a lovely drive and my first straight 6 car. Nice and smooth. I however sold that car today and walked around the corner for my mext "modern classic". This was my dads 1995 BMW e36 328i. Four door in blue. Smooth straight 6 and yet PDQ as well! Hope to make a meet at some point. I know there is one tomorrow night, but I have to be up a few hours later for my holiday.

| I went to Libya. Thought it would be a laugh to do some rioting!
No I went to Tunisia. It was brilliant, everyone there is so friendly and we were the first plane load of tourists out there! Will post the pictures when I can get at the computer, mrs86 is essay writing at the moment! | |

| Ok pictures up as promised My first beamer, an E30, I need another one of these! The old 8v engine and box in the process of being stripped out..... ......in order for this to go in. One Golf GTI beater!!! (M42 twincam rightness) For those who are unfamiliar with the m42 engine, here is the definitive history of the M42 from the e30zone wiki! The M42 is forged on the thighs of a thousand virgins, of shavings from the gates of Hades. Zeus himself is responsible for the design, which its self is the result of Venus and Saturn having interplanetary sex. Many m42s were melted down and used by Saddam Hussein as WMD's. Indeed the Ark of The Covenant, which brought down the walls of Jericho, contained an M42. The Challenger shuttle was the only shuttle not to be powered by the m42, we all know how that ended. The magnetic wobble, experienced by Earth every few centuries is the result of some halfwit stalling a 318is. The 318is is galvanised with the skin of Jesus himself, making it impervious to friction, wind resistance and aerodynamic drag. When Jesus walked on water, he was actually driving a 318is. There. The concise history of all things m42. Nathan (aka RoscoPColtrane) After that I moved onto this.... I liked it, but it was little more then a taxi to me in hindsight. Then, having had my eye on this since my old man acquired in in 2008, I picked up this more "modern classic", I went and took it off his hands! If the weather is ok tomorrow I might treat it to a wash, polish and wax! | |
