Austin Mini - with centre dials - old enough to get us in the club

Looking for a running mini for my son - who is mad on mini's - specifically the models with spedo dial in the center console - I'll consider most things but not looking for a rust bucket on wheels if possible NOT the 1000cc model - insurance you know thanks Derek

My friend is looking to sell his mini! It is f reg but is a 1000? Why do you not want a 1000? His one was restored a couple of years ago but does now need s little tlc but is NOT a rust bucket!!! It is a very smart looking little thing that would probably do him a treat!! In box me if you are interested and I will put you in contact with him as I am not sure what he wants for it but he is not unrealistic!!!! It is moted and currently sorn off the road.

Hi Luke - there are some bits that I will need ASAP - I need to get a leper look at the MOT to see what details of the advisory said - from memory track rod end , rear bearing but that might just be a tighten up the existing and possible a suspension arm but the last one I can not be sure of - many thanks again

Mini home - just ! Immobiliser kicked in a mile into trip home & would not restart - international rescue arrived in the shape of Shaun + trailer so Lee and I pushed it uncerimonially onto trailer for the homeward leg - all good fun in this new mini owning game Daniel is now washing and cleaning car - hard work he is not used too! LOL

Hello Derek! I have somewhere a couple of very good track rod ends but quite where they are is another question!! As for the wheel bearings, for how much they are I would just replace both rears just so it's done and right, they're only about 15-20 mins per side!! Of you are still after a centre speedo I have a spare one!! They are not hard to convert either!! All you need is an Austin 1100 speedo cable and the wiring conversion plug, a fair amount of work is needed but noting too major!! I am happy to advise in any way you need and would be happy to do the job if required. just thought!!! You will also need a new dash liner kit!! It is the only speedo any mini should have!!!!!!

Mini is looking really clean on the drive, and Derek I think you saying it got a mile is slightly optimistic, it only got 100 yards hahah, Bleep battery!
Is she still starting and not cutting out?

She is still cutting out unpredictably so guess the immobiliser is coming out
Gonna book it into your dad garage officially to get the bit sorted that need to be and then take care of those little rust spots she has - but as you say she is pretty tidy as a car.
She will become my main drive shortly so need to get her running
And you def get a go in her.......

Sweet, I hope it is just the immobiliser and nothing we aren't expecting!
I was speaking to Dad about the mini today and he said give him a week or so when the camper is done and he will sort it!
Can't wait!

If taking out the immobiliser doesn't work it may be worth doing away with the regular dizzy and installing an electronic ignition one instead, a worthy upgrade in it's own right on any mini!!! If that is something you want to do I have a couple here!
