I have just had some very sad news.
Some of you may have heard about a car crash in the early hours of this morning.
Sadly Ben Maitland was the passenger and has sadly passed away, I am sure all your thoughts will be with his family and friends. At this very very sad time.
There were also two young girls in the back who are now in intensive care.

I will keep you up to date with any information that I receive, if you wish to post a message on here, I will try my best to forward it on to his parents!

If you would like to pay tribute to Ben in Friday's Gazette, e-mail me your tributes to: thomas.brown@KRNmedia.co.uk. I have no wish to intrude into anyone's grief - just think it would nice to hear from those who knew him well. Heard nothing but great things about him.
I have just been sent this! Please email in! Smile Lee

I never had the good fortune to meet Ben but it is always so sad to hear of the loss of someone so young and so obviously well-liked and respected. Sincere condolences to all of his family and friends at this sad time. I am sure your commemorative cruise will be well be received and appreciated.

Best wishes

I've just realised this is a year on from the accident.

I misread the date and I wasn't a member at the time last year so didn't know about this.

I'm very sorry if my message caused any upset or distress. My condolences and sentiments were genuine.

Regards
