1978 MINI 1380cc stage 3 head - 4spd straight cut box £3,500

Its time to let my beloved mini go due to a new project. It is a 1987 mini1000, I have owned the car since 2008 and in this time have rebuilt it from ground up some of it on a budget and some not it has had all new brake, suspension and the main thing the 1380cc STAGE 3 engine with 4speed straight cut box and x pin diff. I have over £8,000 worth of receipts for this car all mainly just parts as all the work was done by my self including the paint job. I would class it as a running project as it was used weekly but often off the road having things done to it, its in fare condition I mean I have seen worse the overall body is good just a few signs of rust coming from front sill and there are cracks in the filler on the front arches due to stress but noting structural that I know of, The front sub frame was pretty mint when I cleaned it all up and painted it and the rear was ok not perfect but not about to fall out. The car currently has an MOT till 04/07/2012 and TAX till 31/05/2012, the car does have a few issues such as the electrics could do with a few bits replacing this was a new loom about two years ago but after changing a few bits it is a bit like a patchwork quilt, the braided fuel line and brake lines run through the car are not clipped down all the way witch will need doing to get it through its next mot. It currently only has the two front seats in it but will be supplying the rears along with every thing I have spare or what was in the car, the main parts that are on it are as follows.

Engine: 1380cc with stage 3 head
Gearbox: 4 speed full straight cut with x-pin diff and drop gears
Exhaust: cheap manifold but then a Fletcher 2.5” twin DTM
Brakes: front minisport calliper on 7.9” grooved vented discs and green stuff pads and rears are minisport minifins with mintex racing pads, single line cylinder and full braided hoses.
Suspension: GAZ 36point adjustment shocks all the way round with mini sport hilo’s.
Other parts: whole car is either polly bush or solid mounts maybe one or two rubbers but not many, 13 row oil cooler, 2 core aluminium race radiator, new starter and alternator, aldon flame thrower ignitor, aldon fast road distributer (yellow), sfs performance silicone top and bottom hoses (lime green), facet solid state fast road fuel pump with regulator, h7 headlamp conversion, mini sport quick Bleep gear lever and probably many more I have the recipts for every thing I have ever got for the car and will be supplying them. The engine has also recently been re-built after buying it a year and a half ago it was mainly to change the colour and tidy it all up but then ended up putting in the full straight cut gears and all new bolts across the engine and gear box and was tuned by bill Richards only two weeks ago so is running sweet now, will be providing photos from all the work that has been done so you can see the work that has gone into the car.
The engine is not registered with the dvla as it was never provided with a new engine number but this can be got around. The colour of the car is blmc oyster beige and the roof is old English white. The new engine has only done around 700 miles in the time I have had it as I only use the car at weekends.

This is a nice car and gets a lot of attention mainly for the noise it makes but don’t get me wrong it is not perfect, ideally for someone willing to spend some TLC on it or just using it and working on it at the same time to sort out some of it’s problems, the car currently isn’t insured but I am willing to take people out for test drives.
I have already brought a new car so no part exchanges I am up for offers on the price but serious ones only this is a lot of car for its price.
