| The other post about a Morris gearbox reminds me.
I am also on the look out for a four speed Morris gearbox for the DLM.
Current engine and gear box are Ford E93a.
One of the upgrades for Ford e93a specials in the 50's and 60's was a four-speed gearbox, I have been told it is almost a straight swap.
I was told last year that it is the same gearbox in the J2 ??
Would make things easier for the engine in the DLM, crash boxes are no problem for me either. | |

| Thinking about that have a couple of customers that have done that and probably still got their old gearboxes, will ask at next meeting. One at least is a frogeye gearbox, think the other is a 1275 Bill | |

| Hi Bill
Didn't realise the sierra had the same gearbox mounting as a 1953 ford Pop.
The Morris box is more of a period mod so wouldn't be too out of place with authenticity in mind.
Thanks for looking / asking for me.

| Bill, the Ford type 9 box is not only a strong unit which can endure a good degree of punishment without complaint, but also it's a 5 speed unit with a long legged 3rd gear which helps get the best from an A series unit and then the 5th gear quietens things down when on a longer journey. It's quite a versatile box, though prices are steadily increasing due to the kit car fraternity. |
