A Mini hello

Thought I'd say hello, hopefully I will be at one of your meets soon.

I'm in the process of finishing a complete resto on a 1971 Rally mini, and that's what I'm hoping to bring along sometime.
My aim is to get the car finished by the end of this month, it's been quite a few years in the building...

The basic spec is competition biased with full cage, lightweight panels etc.
Motor is 1293cc with forged pistons, Mig spec head, Swiftune Sw5.
I've not run it on a rolling road yet, but at less than 600 kilos, it should hopefully be quite spritely   

In October, my wife and I are planning to drive it to Italy in the Italian Job run. So I really need to start getting some miles on it soon.  

Basically I love all classics, the lighter ones seem to have added appeal so I also run a Mk1 Mx5
