The Darling Buds of May Classic Car Show

The show will be held on Sunday 17th July 2011, from 10 am to 4 pm, at “Pop Larkin`s” farm, Pluckley Road, Bethersden, near Ashford in the heart of Kent.

All pre-1980 makes and models of classic cars, their owners, enthusiasts and members of the public are cordially invited to a “perfick” family day out with a warm, friendly atmosphere. The venue has ample public car parking and gates open at 9.00 am. An estimated 900+ classic vehicles are expected at this year`s show, making it one of Kent’s most popular annual events. This exclusive location was used in the making of Yorkshire Television`s well-known series “The Darling Buds of May” and is the only time that the farm is open to the public.

This year`s show will include: Pop Larkin`s yellow Rolls Royce, a birds of prey flying display, childrens` rides, live music, autojumble and craft stalls, food for all tastes, a visit by the Kent Air Ambulance helicopter (operational circumstances permitting), plus a licensed bar. Throughout the day there will be arena displays of exhibitors` vehicles, with a live commentary.

We are limited to 15 cars so this is strictly first come first serve, so get these in asap.
Entry Form attached, please bring to a meet so we can send this off together, if you send of yourself please make sure you note that you are with Thanet Classics, so that we are allocated enough space for a stand. Also please make me, Shaun or Tony aware so that we know.

Yeah! Jot my name down, although Oscar isn't tidy enough to be on the club stand but I'd like to attend and am happy to hand out flyers or whatever. Cheers guys

You'll have a great day Alan, there's loads to see.

This event is for pre 1980's vehicles obviously if you want to attend but your car isn't pree 1980 you can tag a long but expect to be in the car park!
Pre-booked tickets to show are £3 and public entry is £12 per car.

I should have apPlication forms at the next meet so make sure you bring money so we can get the forms sent of asap. I will send them all off together (or tony will).

Yeah that is what it says on their site! I will see if there are exceptions for clubstands etc

I wouldn't worry too much mate. Until the body work is sorted I'm not too eger to show him off too much (hence the reason I drive him in the dark at the moment! Lol)
My aim is to have the whole car done and dusted by may at the latest for L2B2011

If all the stories I hear about Dereks rolling BBQ are true maybe I'll bring a trailer full of tools as a rolling pit crew!!! And maybe some sausages! Lol

If you had been at the Christmas cruise you would understand why we all take the Mick! It's alright though this year is gonna be a good year for the Jensen!

would love to come, I have some lovely pics of last years event when I went on my own, but can't seem to download all of them only one at a time and their are about twenty so let me know how to do it and I will send them in...

It doesn't matter what your classic is like all are welcome there, in different stages of renovation. People visit every year like to see the before and after..

The Ashford Rare breeds Center does a nice classic show you pay a one off fee and can spend the day there use of all the activites is included in the price. Its a good day out. perhaps the club could go there, lots of Vw's last year..

Try uploading them to a site such as photobucket then copying the [IMG] code and post it!

This is in the list of shows for 2011 and I will most likely be attending!

Just to put this up to the top!

Application forms will be out soon for this, sadly not in time for the Feb meet, but we should hopefully be able to get it up here for download!

And we are allowed 25% after 1980 cars
