Your choice, just remember kids love throwing coins to the floats and exhibits, found that out years ago at birchington carnival when Ray's Austin 10 came back with chips on it through the coins being slung, nice thought though, hey I can always do the repairs and resprays so go for it
Very Happy Very Happy

Wasn't actually thinking of taking the cars! Wink
Luckily I think about (most) things before I post them ha, coin throwing was a big concern of mine. Just after my little sister asked if we could have a float on the carnival I thought I would ask! Smile

I have a crazy idea! What if on the float you have a project car that is part way through being restored?? That way there is no shiny paint to scratch and no glass to smash and I din't think coins would dent a classic cars solid body work.

I would even consider my 4-door Minor saloon (runs but Minus doors, glass and paint!) It will be welded up and solid by them but not in paint.

If I may expand on the project car thing, you also have some parts on the float and tools, during the parade, some participants on the float sit in the car and wave at the crowd and other participant are seen in boiler suits bolting bits onto the car, just wings etc, nothing breakable.

I have managed to secure our flatbed hiab lorry for the float if people wish to expand on ideas?? I'm going to get scaffolding put round it and then maybe netting for the bit where the car/cars are to prevent any damage from flying coins!!! Anyone got or know where to get some netting from???

Hey Luke put the old jag on it, then you will not need to unload it until you take it back to work, no seriously netting needs to come from a scafoolding company they use loads of it, now who do we know

Spoke to the organiser today and he is very happy for us to have a float! Smile
If anyone would to drive their cars behind the float for the whole carnival then they are welcome to do so ENTIRELY at their own risk. It would look brilliant to have 2/3 cars as well as the float so if you don't mind the risk of a coin being thrown/overheating opportunities then let me know. This opportunity is only available if you let me know before hand though!!

This has really come together thanks to Luke.

But we do need everyone's assistance as mentioned at the meet.

The plan is the Italian Job,

3 Mini's Red/White and Blue (obviously)
Landrover towing the gold van
Police Car following us up from behind courtesy of Bob!

We need to decorate the lorry the day before, Luke will post up more details for that as soon as he knows them!

GET INVOLVED,

Who is in??
