| I've been thinking it may be a nice day out to have a sort of East Kent/Thanet classic car time trial, similar to the thing they did on top gear, but on a mini softer sort of scale. Taking in some of the best scenic and fun roads in the area, but on a predesignated route, with intervals between cars setting off. How does this sounds to you all and suggestions and improvements would be great. Alan & Oscar | |

| Just hope you know the legal implications on a time trial. for instance you need a MSA Licence as do all the competitors and a RAC licence to organize a time trial, undder 12 cars it is quite cheap but go over that forget it it unless you have plenty of money. The police etc look very badly on unlicensed time trials amd other rallies. sorry to put it down as I do a lot of them and do have a licence for my motorsports activities. Cheers Bill | |

| I think it's a great idea!!!! I'd love to be part of it !!! I'm sure it wouldnt take to much to organise! As for the police they have more important things to do in Thanet then worry about a car club doing a time trial! (speaking from experience in these matters)

| Well as I said I would not be part of it my MSA licence costs enough per year and would not want to lose it. do you realise with a MSA licence you are not allowed to have racing or rally numbers on your car unless you are actively participating in a rally at the time, the rules are horrendous and the fines for doing a rally without a MSA licence are phenomenal, who is going to organise the rally ? they must be MSA approved and have notified the police and have their permission. If you are really interested in doing this sort of rally then join a RAC MSA affiliated club and do it legally rather than putting the officials of this club and the organisors of the event into possible trouble. sorry to be so pessimistic but that's the way it is these days. | I think the word "rally" and "time trial" are used in the loose terms here! If I'm understanding Alan's idea ! And no one wants to get the officials of the club in trouble with the MSA!
Alan great idea just needs tweaking I think! | |

| As I have always said, I don't like the idea of any events that could be turned into "races" that is why I have tried to keep away from the scavenger hunts although I think Jon with the Cosworth Mini had an idea to make it so that we could do it!
I don't see why (and I think this is what Alan is meaning) we can't do a scenic cruise for the club? With a similar vibe to the mystery cruise? For a jolly down to say Hastings? For example?
Maybe I am wrong?
