| The pump is wired direct into the loom. If you use the one fitted to the 75 you can be confident the flow will be right, but I assume you will want to put it under the bonnet. As the 75's pump is in the boot it's set up for pushing rather than pulling.
I believe that the pump was mounted in the boot because it didn't like the heat of the engine bay, though Morris Minors didn't seem to mind (I know they generate a lot less heat). With the space under the Rover's bonnet I'm sure you can find a suitably cool location

Thanks Tom, I'll pop the pump off over the weekend and take them down. Tony

- Comeing on BEAUTIFUL Tony
Still kicking myself for 'erming and ah'ing' more than once too long. Another day and I would have been down there. I'm looking forward to seeing it in the flesh, BTW did you come over to http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/forum/phpbb/phpBB2/index.php?sid=8eccaa9c633d50bbb04f17a9cb3ecf0b And this is what others think http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/forum/phpbb/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10195 I know you will find a lot of help and knowledge for any problems you have, and might even find parts or alternataive suppliers with genuine parts. Not only that but I know you would be welcomed with your re-build. Roger Thanks Roger, Yes she's coming on slowly, once she running I will be able to move her round to my house and really get cracking on her. Thanks for the links, I'll have a nose through. Tony

| I wasn't suggesting that heat might be a problem with your existing pump as it was obviously designed to cope. It's only the SU electric pumps that I have heard prefer a cooler environment. Even then, as I said, other manufacturers fitted SUs in the engine bay - well, Morris at least. | |

as it was obviously designed to cope. . Yes understood, I was just thinking that I would rather have an electric pump in the boot than under the bonnet if there would be any chance at all of heat from the engine affecting the running in any way. I think I will probably end up fitting the one for the 75, I had a quick look around today but decided to leave it until Sunday when I have more time. Tony

Thanks Tom, I love a challenge so mastering the machine will be good fun. I turned up a mates jeans for him last week he was over the moon Thanks for the kind offer of pump parts Tom, I think I will try to go down the electric route though because sourcing the parts to maintain the manual pumps seems to be quite long winded. | ok, the morris minor ones are electric 12v but from memory they draw up fuel from the tank which is why they are up near the engine, if you wanted one to go in the rear of the car a mini fuel pump would do the trick, what do you have on your morris oxford?
