Is there much work involved to fit it Roger?

More importantly, are they easy to remove if the car is stolen?

Simple to fit, about an afternoons slow work.
Took me longer to make a bracket, and get the tools out, to fit the unit

As to removal.
The unit is small, about the size of a cigarette packet so easy to hide.
I think I read it will phone your mobile if the power is cut off.

Has two aerials one for GSM and one for GPS.
There is also a small aerial for the remote fob, don't know why as all can be set through the phone.

Door sensors, a trembler for movement alarm.
Can also be set up so that you can immobilise the fuel pump via the phone, has a cut out relay so could be set to isolate anything.
Also a siren, or wire to the horn, that is what I will do as the horn on the DLM is unique as well. might wire the horn and siren to it..

The only extra is a PAYG SIM card so the only on going payments are top ups.

The only complicated thing is trying to understand Chinese English.
Had to read the hand book about 20+ times to understand it, and then a bit off suck it and see technology

According to the manual a GPS/GPRS SIM card will allow you to do a lot more.
The link to google maps is suposed to need GPS/GPRS but mine linked without it, so will be checking out the other functions as I get the hang of it.
Might get a few pennies off insurance as well, have to phone them and see.

OK it's in Thai but you can see what is what, even cut out the fuel pump to stop the car

PS
Forgot to mention there is also a microphone that can be set to listen to the occupants.
Be no good in the DLM, also the door connections, don't have any.

PS my Nephew designed one of the original systems a few years back. now a lot of coppies on the market.
Was marketing in Australia and Malaya as no one over here was interested.

This is a later model of the unit he said would do the job.

If I knew how to PDF the file I'd post the handbook on here.
OR is it possible to attach a word pad file on here

Well ive actually made some progress on my older cars in the last couple of days. The imps did not like being parked up for the winter and played up!

My bro took the sunbeam out for a run but a fresh injection of petrol managed to gunge up the fuel filter and it broke. He removed it and got it home but gunk had got in the pump etc so today it was treated to a new tank and everything stripped and cleaned. It also has, for the first time in our ownership, a working choke lever so hopefully no more starting it from the engine bay! Hooray Very Happy

The Singer had a dead battery (of course!) but also a jammed starter. With battery and starter replaced it reminded us it had a very noisy water pump so this was replaced with a competition one that came from an imp stash found upstairs at thanet motor centre ages ago!

With this running the lack of indicators it developed the last time it was at a meet needed sorting. So the dash binacle came off and the flasher unit was replaced. This also gave me the chance to replace the broken dip switch with the new one I bought 2 years ago! It is now all back together and working. Hopefully it will behave tuesday evening. I have fitted a set of 60's minilites instead of it other wheels but not sure I like them yet.

Only problem is both cars need a serious scrub and t-cut but I wont get time so the will have to be at the club meet dirty!

There was an imp stash in our garage? We still find stuff up there we didn't know about! I do plan (again) to clear it all out up there this year! We will see!

Tonight we put the new shocks (that I drove to Erith for today) on the camper and connected the gear linkage up, ohh and also got it running! All we need to do tomorrow is put the clutch cable in and we should be rolling for the meet tomorrow! Wish me luck, first ever time driving a left hooker!

A tip to driving a left hooker.

My first 6-7 years back in England in the 70's were with left hookers.

Get used to keeping close to the left hand side of the road and watch down the N/S of vehicles. easier than trying to pull out to see what's comeing, you'll soon get used to it.

What have I been doing on my cars? Well this weekend I polished my Singer chamois ( Imp! ) up on the friday afternoon and have simply driven it all weekend!

It is very nice not to have to fix anything on it and simply enjoy it. Very Happy

Just spotted the post under events about the spitfire museum. I hadnt realised it was on but as it happens had a bit too much to do anyway. Think I have enjoyed using it more than displaying it today anyway.

Haha, there isnt much windscreen to wash, you should mount a water pistol on the bonnet for the next m.o.t.!

My mini is off being sprayed at the mo. Its being striped back to bare metal then painted, thats if there is any metal there!

Ford is doing well, went with a friend to a vw meet at tesco, was looking about at the cars looked back at mine and there was 7 people gathered round it looking at it! I would have washed it if I knew people were interested in it!

Yes please Chris
The local one in Colchester that I had new sensor plugs fitted by are mainly comercial and marine.
I got the feeling that I was trestapassing when I took a car rad in for repair, and the price seemed to show it but was desperate at the time.

Not as though I can scource another rad as this is also a one off.

Boston rads, is that Boston Linc's?
